“Janet Clare – Draw With Your Machine”

In this fun workshop I will give you an introduction to free-motion stitching with your sewing machine. This is my favourite technique and a really important part of how I achieve my appliqué and quilting style.

In the morning, you learn how to draw using your sewing machine through a series of fun exercises. I will teach you all my tips and tricks to enable you to confidently create your own thread sketches.

In the afternoon you will be free to create your own pictures and appliqué blocks with my help. You will see how free-motion stitching can transform and personalise your appliqué and breathe life into your work!

Honestly, no real life drawing skills are required. I will be right there to help you design, draw any templates required and guide you to create your very own unique projects. I look forward to meeting and creating with you!

“The Word Smith – Quilted Memories to Cherish”

“One day I realised that I could simply stitch our stories and here we are. ‘The Wordsmith’ is about noticing and cherishing the simple things in life. It’s about love letters, little notes and finding pressed flowers in favourite books. So join me and quieten your mind, gather your memories and slowly piece them together with beautiful fabrics to create a lasting cloth to be treasured by generations to come” Janet Clare.

During our Wordsmith workshop you will learn about my favourite techniques including fusible appliqué and free-motion quilting and start creating your very own unique projects inspired by your favourite sayings and memories.
